Job Description

The Attendant fills a very important position at Jordan Health Services.  During an orientation conference, which may be conducted in a client’s home, the Attendant is introduced to the client and the approved tasks to be performed by the Attendant are reviewed and explained.  The Attendant goes into the home of his/her clients on a scheduled basis to provide personal care and/or household maintenance chores for the elderly and/or disabled individuals who cannot do so for themselves.  This involves such things as cooking certain meals for the client, assisting with personal care, transferring and ambulating, shopping, escorting and cleaning the client’s home.  The Attendant spends a lot of time with clients in their home, and therefore must be very compassionate, patient and responsible.  He/she must also be constantly aware of the client’s safety and well-being and be ready to assist in emergencies.

Job Requirements


  1. One (1) year’s experience as an attendant providing personal care services, preferred.

  2. Certified Nurse Aid or Home Health Aid, preferred.

  6. Have the ability to organize work and schedule effectively.


  1. Must have satisfactory references from previous employers.

  2. Must be at least 18 years of age, or under 18 and be a high school graduate or be enrolled in a vocational education program.

  3. Must be able to pass a criminal history check.

  4. Must be able to pass a random drug test.

  5. Must be able to provide own dependable transportation to and from client’s home.

    Physical Requirements:

    1.   Moderate to heavy lifting on occasions.

    2.   Ability to participate in physical activity.

    3.   Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on an as required basis.
